This register records the internal strengths and weaknesses, and the external opportunities and threats, relevant to A M Water Services Limited’s purpose under Clause 4.1 of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. It describes the context AMWS operates in. Commercial decisions arising from that context sit with the Directors and are not carried in the management system.
A financially stable family business with a strong local reputation, triple-ISO certification and twenty operational teams.
Capacity, not capability. Compliance, mobilisation and improvement all land on the same handful of people.
The Kier opportunity, operations anticipated from late October 2026. Business development under consideration, not a committed contract.
Compounded compliance load hitting a fixed capacity — Water (Special Measures) Act, Employment Rights Act staged commencement, the Worker Protection duty on 30/10/2026, three ISO transitions and Cyber Essentials inside eighteen months.
Each pairing lands on an action that already exists. The matrix shows how the Clause 4.1 analysis produces those actions; it is not a source of new ones.
Certification is what makes AMWS admissible to a Tier-1 supply chain. Holding it through the October surveillance visit is what keeps the prospect open.
A certified system already in operation absorbs a new obligation as a revision rather than a new build. Each transition runs on the APP_25 pattern: a clause-by-clause position, the gap, an owner and a date.
Any new principal-contractor engagement draws on the same people who carry compliance and the audit programme. The duty-holder position and the client assurance requirements are settled before work starts, not during it.
Fixed capacity against obligations on dates AMWS does not control. The levers are sequence and omission: the immovable dates are worked first.
Each entry names the PESTLE factor it derives from. APP_04 is the horizon scan; this register is where its factors are read as strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats for AMWS, and the TOWS above is where that reading produces a position.

| 5 | 27/09/2026 | Aaron Mason, Director | TOWS matrix added, pairing the four factors judged decisive against the actions that already exist. Commercial actions withdrawn: the register records context, not business decisions. Kier restated as under consideration. |
