This bulletin provides critical HSQE updates for April 2025 affecting A M Water Services Limited's operations in water infrastructure construction and self-lay schemes.

🔴 CRITICAL: NCO Water Now Mandatory

From 1st April 2025, all operatives working on water networks must hold valid NCO Water registration. This affects ALL our teams on: - Water main laying - Service connections - Repairs and maintenance - Self-lay schemes

Required Qualifications:

  • EUSR SHEA Water (3-year validity)
  • EUSR National Water Hygiene (3-year validity)
  • NCO Water registration appropriate to role
  • Total cost per worker: £500-800

Action Required: Verify all operative registrations immediately. Non-compliant workers cannot operate on water networks.

Water (Special Measures) Act 2025 - Now in Force

Key provisions affecting our operations: - Water companies must submit annual Pollution Incident Reduction Plans - Executives face up to 2 years imprisonment for obstructing investigations - Real-time monitoring requirements for emergency overflows - Impact on A M Water Services: Enhanced environmental compliance requirements will cascade through supply chains

Stress Awareness Month - #TEAM Wellbeing Focus

April is Stress Awareness Month. HSE's "5 Rs" approach: - Reach out - Recognise - Respond - Reflect - Make it Routine

Legal Reminder: We have a legal obligation to prevent work-related stress. Utilize our #TEAM culture to support colleagues.

Asbestos Awareness Week (1-7 April)

Critical for work on pre-2000 water infrastructure: - Water treatment works - Pumping stations - Administrative buildings

Remember: Asbestos still causes ~5,000 deaths annually in the UK.

Prosecution Alert: Excavation Safety

Key Lesson: All excavations over 1.5m must be properly supported or battered back - no exceptions.
